Our mission is to provide opportunities for the next generation of scientists, programmers, and engineers to learn and build interest in STEM. Our members had the ability to join STEM clubs and do workshops similar to this when they were children, so we aim to return the favor while giving back to the community.
We’re passionate about offering free STEAM education to as many students as possible. Our classes are completely free of charge, and we extend our reach across various communities throughout Northern Virginia, including libraries, religious institutions, and schools. Additionally, we actively involve our volunteers, providing them with comprehensive training to ensure they become the best educators they can be.
We prioritize active learning and understanding among our students through a series of questions and interactive sessions. Our approach involves guiding students rather than doing the work for them, ensuring they truly comprehend the material. Volunteers play a crucial role in this process, providing support and guidance to facilitate meaningful comprehension.
We strive to inspire students to take an interest in STEAM careers and encourage them to explore these fields further. Additionally, we empower them to embrace discomfort as a natural part of learning and growth, creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. Our aim is to equip them with in-demand skills.
