Volunteer with TYE

Our volunteers are the backbone of TYE. Whether you have a few hours or can commit regularly, there's a place for you on our team.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Classroom Assistants: Help facilitate workshops and guide students through projects
  • Workshop Facilitators: Lead specific activities or teach specialized skills
  • Event Support: Assist with setup, registration, and logistics at events
  • Content Creators: Help with photography, videography, or social media
  • Administrative Support: Behind-the-scenes help with planning and organization

Time Commitment:

  • One-time events (2-4 hours)
  • Regular weekly commitment (2-3 hours)
  • Flexible based on your availability

Requirements:

  • Age 16+ (or with parent/guardian for younger volunteers)
  • Passion for education and working with youth
  • Background check required for regular volunteers
  • Orientation/training provided

Student Mentorship Program

Are you a high school or college student passionate about STEM? Join our student-led mentorship program and inspire younger students while developing leadership skills.

What Mentors Do:

  • Lead small group activities and projects
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support
  • Serve as role models and encourage curiosity
  • Help create a welcoming, supportive learning environment
  • Participate in mentor training and team meetings

Mentor Requirements:

  • Age 14+ (high school students welcome)
  • Interest or background in STEM subjects
  • Good communication skills and patience
  • Reliable and committed to scheduled sessions
  • Complete mentor training program (provided free)
  • Minimum 3-month commitment preferred
