Exploring Electrical Engineering: Future innovators at Greenbriar East

April 12th, 2023

Through our collaborative efforts with the Greenbriar East team and our dedicated volunteers, an exciting weekly after school camp was established, running for a duration of eight weeks. Over this period, we had the privilege of introducing numerous students to the fundamentals of electrical engineering, utilizing microcontrollers and the Arduino software as key teaching tools.

Throughout these engaging sessions, we introduced students to the world of microcontrollers, providing step-by-step instruction on how to set up the Arduino IDE on their computers. As their understanding grew, we progressed to more complex subjects, encouraging students to expand their knowledge and skills. Starting with simple tasks such as making a light turn on and blink, they were able to enhance their capabilities, ultimately utilizing ultrasonic sensors to measure distance and move servos on command

We express our gratitude to Greenbriar East Elementary School for providing us with this invaluable opportunity. Their support and collaboration played a vital role in creating an environment beneficial to learning and exploration. Looking ahead, we are eager to continue hosting camps at their school, with plans to expand into other fascinating subjects.
